The Southeast Jade Mountain Technology Association in the United States recently held a technology forum at the Morgan Stanley Conference Hall. The theme of the forum was "Transforming Enterprises - The Application and Adoption of AI Artificial Intelligence Technology." Experts from industry, government, and academia were invited to explore how AI can lead and reshape future market interactions and corresponding business development.

Since its first technology forum in 2019, the organization had suspended its physical forums for several years due to the pandemic, and it wasn't until this year that they grandly resumed the physical forum. The event consisted of both in-person and online components, with approximately 50 participants attending in person and around 40 participants joining online.

The host of the event, President Allan Lin of Jade Mountain, welcomed everyone and introduced the association's objectives and activities.

The first speaker, Jeff Kramer, Executive Vice President of Aprio Accountants, led the electronic digital transformation and cybersecurity consulting. He discussed how business leaders should understand the rapid changes in AI, how it can transform lives, and how companies can take advantage of this opportunity. He emphasized that businesses should reflect on and develop an AI strategy from five perspectives: What are the ambitions for business success? Where do they want to achieve those ambitions? How to set winning strategies, models, or values? Understand their core capabilities and strengths, and determine what technology systems are needed to implement them.

Dr. Chin-Hui Lee, a professor at the Georgia Institute of Technology, introduced the journey of developing knowledge and mathematical foundations for speech technology using machine learning and big data. He showcased visions from science fiction novels and the challenges that humans need to overcome to achieve continuous innovation and drive the AI revolution with societal impact. College students actively participated in discussions during the event, sparking new ideas for potential research.

Dr. Shi Jian, the representative of Dorabot Inc, a machine intelligence and robotics company, discussed how the company integrates intelligent robot systems into the supply chain. Dorabot utilizes cutting-edge AI and robotics technology to develop automated warehousing solutions, including computer vision, motion planning, mobility, and deep learning, which can be applied to logistics, express delivery, e-commerce, ports, airports, manufacturing, and other scenarios.

The system utilizes state-of-the-art deep learning, motion planning, grasping planning, navigation, and SLAM (Simultaneous Localization and Mapping) technologies to select, place, load, classify, and transport objects of various shapes and sizes. Its robots can replace manual labor in warehouses and even calculate the volume and weight of each box to optimize stacking for maximum efficiency.

Mr. Chen Hsin-fa, the Chief of the Economic Division at the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Atlanta, explained Taiwan's involvement in the upstream and downstream sectors of artificial intelligence-related industries, as well as the significance of Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) in various industries. His presentation aimed to provide attendees with an understanding of the prospects of AI in Taiwan's industry.

At the end of the event, the host engaged in a question-and-answer session with the guests, fostering further discussion and exchange of ideas.
