Winmate expands the device options for the 10.1-inch Intel Pentium based M101PR rugged tablets with the addition of a resistive touchscreen option. Winmate is always looking to provide the best options for our customers no matter their application and this new touchscreen option is no exception. But what are the benefits of a resistive touchscreen in this day and age when projected capacitive multi-touch screens have already become the new norm in touchscreen technology?
Unlike capacitive touchscreens that register touch through conductivity, resistive touchscreens are force activated through pressure, which means that different forms of touch input can activate the screen, including fingers, fingernails, styluses, and gloved hands. This means that the tablet can be used in environments where liquids and rain droplets will be present on the touchscreen. The resistive touchscreen will not pickup these inadvertent inputs and create disruptions when completing your tasks. This allows for the M101 rugged tablet to be used in even more environments, especially heavy-duty application areas and outdoor use where there will be contaminants that may cause unintended touch inputs.
