AMR Lift Truck

Automate materials movement with safe and reliable task automation.

Background

As technologies for sensing, mapping, and navigation have improved over the last decade, AGV (Automated Guided Vehicles) and Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMR, or Industrial Mobile Robots) are now available as an alternative to forklift trucks in warehousing, intralogistics industry, and factories. While AGVs often work in an environment separated from humans to maintain safety, AMR lift truck offers flexibility in navigating the workspaces through autonomy technology that combines data from cameras, LiDAR, and machine learning.

The AMR’s main components include an HMI controller, computing unit, battery, motors, sensors, and camera. The AMR lift truck is considered more flexible because it can change its path dynamically with less effort, providing cost-effective solutions due to its flexibility and ease of setup.

Main Challenges

  • Indoors to outdoors material flow – The AMRs controllers can endure the operation heat without system crash and continue to deliver stable performance. Moreover, some applications might include humidity, strong vibration, and dust that may impact the product’s functionality. It needs to be tested under strict conditions to ensure the design could couple with humid, dusty, and applications environments to reduce device downtime.
  • Wide range of connectivity with stable computing capabilities – AMR utilizes sensors and embedded systems to understand its operating environment. Hence the computer device mounted on the AMR lift truck must support multiple I/O interfaces and wireless connectivity to connect with cameras, sensors, etc., and deliver data and locations with the warehouse management system.

Why Winmate

Reliable and versatile computing capabilities

Winmate Vehicle-Mounted Computers seamlessly fit most warehouse and heavy-duty vehicles. It features a set of programmable keys and a glove-friendly touchscreen to simplify the most complex operations.

Each product has been tested based on the MIL-STD 810G/H against vibration, drop, and impact. Also, IP65 protection, optional waterproof connectors, temperature sensor, defroster, and optical bonding protect the computer against dust, water intake, and humidity.
