Thermal Analysis applied to Winmate G-WIN Rugged PC for optimized Efficiency


By applying the strict thermal test, we have proved that Winmate's G-WIN Rugged PC can operate in high performance for applications of high temperature environment. This is resulting from extensive simulation, analysis, tests and optimization of the heat sink technology and the mechanical housing design.


Professional Thermal Analysis and Design

By using thermal simulation software, Winmate can analyze the thermal problems easily, quickly and accurately. With a new simulation tool(Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD)) we can simplify and optimize the design and then proof it by the real testing.With this method we can give much more efficient and faster the solution. The figures below are the simulation results of one of Winmate's box PCs.

The calculation will consider at least following factor:
  1. Major component' material properties
  2. Thermal Design Power
  3. Fan curve
  4. Ambient/ External flow condition
  5. Heat flow
  6. Default Emissivity
  7. Emissivity of all heat sinks and materials
Testing Procedure

Winmate use well-defined thermal analysis procedures to verify our G-WIN Rugged PC.So it can be approved in high temperature conditions, up to 55°degree Celsius Ambient. The test meets the IEC60068-2-2 Testing procedures by running Windows XP PRO with Stress software BCM Diagnostics Pro Version 2.30.

The result of the tests is that in the full range of temperature the performance on functionality was normal.
